When you’re getting to know someone and want start a committed relationship, there are three (3) things that are necessary to do and not do to have a successful relationship. That’s where the “red light”, “yellow light”, and “green light” come into play.
Red Light - (STOP). To have a successful relationship with anyone, NEVER have sex on the first day. It takes the curiosity out of the relationship. Sex is the ultimate goal, along with marriage, and if given too soon, it can ruin a relationship entirely.
Yellow Light – (CAUTION). When you’re getting to know someone, it’s always good to talk about your past relationship(s) to let your partner get a feel of who you are and what you’ve been through, BUT don’t tell them too much information about your past. If you happen to tell your partner too much information about your past relationship(s) then they’ll think you’re still attached to that person(s) and would be curious to how far a relationship can go between you all.
Green Light – (GO). When you’re getting to know someone, ALWAYS talk about your future plans and find out about theirs. In a relationship, your plans will become their plans and their plans will become your plans, especially when you’ll are married.
