More often than not, a parent in law is not around their son/daughter in law, so majority of the news they hear about the in-law is from their own child. In a relationship, people tend to frequently tell what’s going wrong in it instead of what’s going right. With that being said, a parent-in-law can only go off what’s wrong in their child’s relationship not knowing the good that their partner does. Overall, if you’re not going to tell your parents the good things that go on in your relationship, certainly don’t tell them the bad things. Telling anyone only the good or bad things will only sway them in that direction not giving them a chance to play both fields.
That is true. Parents go mainly on what they hear. I think its important for the spouse to respect and listen to their partners concerns regarding the issues they have with their in-laws and not try brush their concerns under the rug. A spouse should not feel like u are choosing ur parents side.
