You can not tell your parents who to be friends with, but it doesn't give your parents the right to put you in the middle of their friendship with your ex. You shouldn't have to be the middle person for their meetings, handging out and conversations.
Your new partner might feel overwhelmed with your parents talking about your ex all the time. Speaking from experience, it's pretty freaking annoying.
