Open Relationships

Should a relationship ever be "open" and if a relationship is "open", is it really considered a relationship?

  1. NO...NO..AND HELL NO!

A relationship can be open, it just will not be considered Monogamous.

Everyone defines their relationship in different ways.

I do not beleive in open relationships. A relationship to me only consist of two people in it.

  2. An open relationship is still a relationship. It might even be better than a reg relationship because there is no need for secrets.

  5. An "open relationship" is a relationship, but with permission to cheat. Any couple that decides to be in an "open relationship" isn’t serious about being in a committed relationship because an "open relationship" is totally opposite due to the fact that other people will be involved in it intimately.

Even though in an "open relationship" people tend to put their partner first, the relationship would still be less meaningful, loving, but more spontaneous knowing that someone could possibly be in the middle at any time.

A couple has to either be in a closed relationship (monogamous) or an open relationship (polygamous) because it can't be both.

The same couple cannot go from a monogamous to a polygamous relationship back and forth and expect it to work. Once a person wants to change the status of their relationship to monogamous after being a polygamous relationship or vice versa, it will take a lot of time to understand one another and keep the relationship strong knowing that someone was, is, or could possibly be in the middle of the relationship.

Overall, anybody can be in an "open relationship", but just know what you want in your relationship because it won't be committed and your feelings might get hurt.
